Santorini will complement our list of amazing destinations throughout Europe and provide new possibilities for our clients

European health spa hotel operator Ensana is growing its portfolio with a flagship destination in Greece.

Launched in 2019, Ensana manages 27 hotels in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and the UK, many of which are located in historic spa towns renowned for their natural healing resources and restorative properties.

The Ensana brand is anchored by an integrative approach to health combining natural healing resources with high-end medical expertise and modern diagnostic testing.

Located at Kamari Beach, the brand new Santorini destination – called Kamari Beach Hotel – is being developed by TKC Koleksion SA and will be managed by Ensana. The 120-key hotel is set to open in 2025.

“We’re very happy to announce that we’re extending the brand to Greece,” said Frank Halmos, CEO of Ensana.

“Santorini will complement our list of amazing destinations throughout Europe and provide new possibilities for our clients.”

Petra Lelovska, group vice president of Ensana, explained that the property’s spa offering will be founded on the beliefs championed by two of ancient Greece’s most famous physicians – Hippocrates and Gale.

Both believed that exercise and a balanced diet lead to better health and longevity.

“We’re looking forward to combining this ancient knowledge with our expertise and Santorini’s local natural resources such as seawater, seaweed and mud to create programmes that improve our guests’ health,” Lelovska added.

Greece’s wellness economy has been under the spotlight in recent months following the inaugural Global Wellness Economy conference, hosted in January. The event sought to showcase Greece’s potential to become a leading health and wellness tourism destination.

A lineup of international speakers – including Susie Ellis and Andrew Gibson – explored topics including what makes Greece a wellness destination, the Greek wellness identity and what opportunities, trends and challenges face Greece as it seeks to become an established player in the health and wellness market.
